Creator policy
Shwetopadma is a creative marketplace where artists, makers, designers and independent creators in Bangladesh share their work, reach new customers and sell unique products. We want it to be a place where creativity is respected, originality is valued, and both creators and customers feel safe and supported.
Reading this policy is mandatory. Read it in full before you apply to open a shop. By applying, you confirm that you have read it and agree to follow it, together with our Terms of use and Community rules. Every shop is reviewed before it can post.

Every product must be accurately described, legal in Bangladesh and suitable for Shwetopadma. We may reject or remove products that don't fit Shwetopadma, don't meet our standards, or raise legal, safety or customer-service concerns. Making something that isn't on this list? Show us your work; we're keen to explore new categories.
Not allowed
- Counterfeit or fake-brand goods.
- Second-hand or used items. Vintage-style pieces must be new.
- Weapons, drugs, adult content, live animals, or anything restricted or illegal in Bangladesh.
- Misleading prices, such as a price that isn't what you will charge.
- Sending buyers to scams, or asking them to pay into accounts that aren't in your Shop settings.
Originality and intellectual property
Creators deserve recognition and protection for their original work. You are responsible for having the rights to everything you upload and sell. You must not:
- copy another creator's original artwork or product and sell it as your own;
- upload someone else's photographs, illustrations, designs, text or other creative work without their permission;
- use copyrighted or trademarked material, such as characters, logos or brand names, without the right or a licence;
- sell counterfeit products;
- claim another person's work as your own;
- reproduce another creator's specific design just because you found it online.
Inspiration is welcome; copying isn't. If someone reports that a listing copies their work, we may hide it while we look into it.
Creating a listing
Every listing should give customers clear and honest information:
- One product per pin. Don't post the same item again and again to flood the feed.
- A clear title, and the real price in taka (৳).
- Your own, accurate photographs of the actual product. No stock photos or images that misrepresent it.
- A detailed description that covers, where relevant: size and dimensions, materials, colours or variations, quantity or availability, how long you take to make or prepare it, delivery, customisation options, care instructions, and any important limitations or conditions.
Your photographs and description must show what the customer will actually receive. Don't use misleading photographs, descriptions, prices or claims. For handmade pieces, explain the natural variations that come from the handmade process.
Product quality
You are responsible for the quality of everything you sell.
- As described. What arrives must match your photos and description in design, size, colour, material and finish, apart from the natural variation you have explained.
- Well made. Products must be finished, last in normal use, and be free of defects you know about. If a piece has a flaw, show it and say so.
- Safe. Products must be safe for their intended use. Take extra care with anything for children, anything worn on the skin, anything that touches food, and anything electrical. Name materials people may be allergic or sensitive to.
- Packed to arrive safely. Pack fragile and valuable pieces so they survive delivery.
- Consistent. When you make a product again, keep it as good as the one in your photos. If something changes, update the listing.
- Put right. If a product arrives damaged, faulty or not as described, work with the buyer to fix it under your return policy.
Upheld complaints about quality count as strikes (see Complaints).
Selling and delivery
- Answer buyers' messages within 48 hours.
- Deliver what you showed, in the time you promised, at the price you listed.
- Keep conversations about an order in Messages on Shwetopadma, so there's a record.
You are the seller
- Every sale is between you and the buyer. You take the payment, deliver the product, and give any return, exchange or refund.
- Accept payment only to the accounts in your Shop settings, and only for orders placed through checkout. Don't send buyers to pay elsewhere.
- You are responsible for your products being safe, legal and as described, and for any tax or licence your business needs.
Your return policy
- Before your shop can publish, add a return, exchange and refund policy in Shop settings, even if it's "no returns on made-to-order pieces". Buyers see it with every product and at checkout.
- Keep to it. Not keeping to your own policy counts as breaking these rules.
Complaints
- When a buyer complains, we add you to the Support conversation. Answer within 2 days.
- Each upheld complaint is a strike. Three strikes in 12 months, or one serious violation (fraud, not delivering after payment, counterfeit goods), can pause or close your shop.
- You cover Shwetopadma for any claim or cost that comes from your products or sales, as far as the law allows.
Enforcement
Breaking these rules can lead to hidden listings, a warning, your shop being paused, or permanent removal from Shwetopadma. Repeated verified complaints count as strikes.
